Double suicide bombing hit Dikwa refugee camp, 58 killed, 76 injured.


Two female suicide bombers have blown themselves up in a refugee camp in north-east Nigeria , killing at least 56 people, officials have said.



The officials of health and emergency agencies have confirmed 56 dead and 76 injured when two female suicide bombers blew themselves up at Dikwa refugee camp in Borno State.

The camp which houses about 50,000 people who have been driven from their homes by the Boko Haram Islamist uprising was on Tuesday morning hit by twin explosions.

Officials blamed the extremists for the bombings at Dikwa, 55 miles north-east of Maiduguri, the biggest city in the region and birthplace of Boko Haram. The six-year insurgency has killed.

Over 20,000 people have been killed and more 2.5 million made homeless across Nigeria’s borders since the insurgency started in the North East.

Meanwhile the governor of a province in neighboring Cameroon said two suicide bombers believed to have come from Nigeria on Wednesday killed 10 people and injured 40 in a border village.
