The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, on Wednesday was ordered to be remanded in prison. Justice John Itsoho gave the order at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Kanu, alongside others was taken to the court this morning on treasonable charges. He was alleged to be pushing for the creation of an independent state of Biafra and ran an underground radio for the broadcast.
Mr. Kanu has been held in prision custody since October 2015, after the federal government flouted the bail ordering his release.
Meanwhile the case has been adjourned till January 25, 2016.
